So, bored on a Saturday and just wanted to prove a point. Registered the domain www.bitcoinforextips.com

It was a tough one, I put out a tweet saying I was bored and fancied a little experiments and two folks hit me back up with some great suggestions.

@seobadger DIY vajazzle kits?

— Chris Dyson (@ChrisLDyson) April 20, 2013

That’s going to be next Saturday night and the winner from last night was……

And I always like to keep my promises so and inside 12 hours, we have #1 position in both the UK and the US

OK, granted, this is for the EMD term, but it shows you, its does what I wanted to do, it proves a point about, how the game is not over!

But, bitcoin is turning into a relatively competitive market!

This domain will rank for other terms.

This domain has fuck all on it, no quality content!

No quality signals!

No quality design or user experience, I’m not looking at CRO!

I’m ranking the fucker in google for a dceent term and will make it rank for soooooooooooo much more!

To all the people who say links are dead – BULLSHIT!

To all the people who say SEO is DEAD – BULLSHIT!

Pounds, Shillings, Pence, Rupees and Rubles

Recently a dude I know wrote a post that he took quite a bit of flack for.

Chris had been approached by some people who just happened to be of Indian origin, trying to get him to part with some heard earned money, for some SEO, some link building SEO.

Now, on a daily basis, those of us who work in SEO are inundated with these types of offers. Most of us choose to ignore them. On this occasion, Chris decided to have a bit of a game. And that’s all this was, good sport!

If you send an e-mail saying your name is Bob James (this is a fake name in case the people outed by Chris have a google alert set up on his name.) When clearly no one from your ethnic group is called Bob or James or knows the words to Ally Bally, Born in Glasgow or the jelly piece song, then this does raise suspicions.

However, the game played was blown out of proportion by people shouting and playing the racism card.

First of what is racism.

Well according to Wikipedia, the piece of crap site returned at the top of most Google searches, because Google is broke, the definition is:

“Racism is usually defined as views, practices and actions reflecting the belief that humanity is divided into distinct biological groups called races and that members of a certain race share certain attributes which make that group as a whole less desirable, more desirable, inferior or superior.”

I prefer the Gizzogle version which is:

Racizzle is probably defined as views, practices n’ actions reflectin tha belief dat humanitizzle is divided tha fuck into distinct biological crews called races n’ dat thugz of a cold-ass lil certain race share certain attributes which make dat crew as a whole less desirable, mo’ desirable, inferior and supaior.

Either way what Chris did was not and could never be construed as racist.

Let’s get the facts straight.

Someone tried to pull a fast one, to make some money and in return supply an inferior product.

Doesn’t matter which creed, color, nation this person was from, ethically and morally what they were trying to do was wrong.

You want the white hat answer, best said in a voice which has a Burberry hat way too tight on the head, but without the Glasgow twang to the adenoids… “this is inherently against Google TOS”

You want the response form a client. “these links are shit, where did you buy them India”

My response.. “they don’t work”, OK, let me caveat that. They do (did) work, they work in the short term for a good old fashioned SEO boost. The type of thing common place among SEO in 2008-2010 because a client was leaving or they were moaning about performance. Smash it, keep them happy and then do what you really wanted, needed to do.

The reason you got away with it, was because everyone was up to it. Most people won’t come out and admit it, but they were. And, if they say they weren’t, there as bad as Bob James. (apologies to the real Bob James whoever you are..)

Now, the reason for this post was not to have a go in anyway at people in India who do SEO. Furthermore, this post was not written to defend Chris, cause he is big enough and ugly enough to take care of himself.

The inspiration for this post was The Advanced guide To SEO created by Neil Patel and Sujan Patel.

I do not know these two fine men and I do not know if they are related or not. I do know that Patel is a name of Indian origin, and that is all I know, other than, this is a beast of a resource.

Fair play to both these guys, who have put to together a fantastic resource for Noobs and intermediates a like who need to understand who and what SEO is and what they need to do to get the job done.

For me, the chapter on Ajax, was one of the best elements.

If you haven’t read it, you should!

If you think all Indian SEO’s are bad, your wrong. (I do hope that both the Mr Patel’s are of Indian origin and I have not committed a massive faux pas and now appear to be Xenophobic).

Either way.

Spammers be ware, don’t be peddling your shit and pretending your something you not , or have a service you don’t, no matter what country your from.

Peeps, if someone outs a spammer, cause they are a spammer, don’t call them a racists, call them a spamist!

Patel’s nice work guys!

Peace oot!

Now, when I settle down for an evening of making money I am either doing one of two things. I am playing poker or I am creating a new site, because I have some new or adapted way of monetizing that site.

Whopppppeeee, great for me I can hear you all cry, and groans, from all the poor fish that I take money off at every online poker room I venture into.

Phising is bad, we all know that and agree that. Fishing is even worse! Lets take poker to start with. I sit down at a table with less money than I would normally. I sit down at a table with a lower small and big blind than I would normally. Why? because the people playing at those tables don’t have the experience or knowledge I have.

Hence, why it is called fishing. So just like my American cousins say “Go Fish”.

Easy money, easy night whats the harm right?

That is exactly where we find ourselves with Google and their super sexy client friendly disavow tool.

Some like to say being caught with your hand in the cookie jar.

Some like to say being caught in your sisters bedroom!

Some like to say, who gives a fuck! Just don’t do it!

All this Bull Shit about…

“hey there, I recovered from a Google panda penalty and so can you, click here for the dime sale”

“hi, we recovers 9 client web urls with penguins penalties we do same jobs for your web domains”

The Google Disavow was the biggest joke of 2012. It was like April 1 and groundhog day mate!

Do Not Do It!

Mr Client, your agency helped you make lots of money, now you want to grass them up to Google!

Google want to know what you were up to, why? So they will let you rise back to the top of the results, No! So they can fuck over everyone else who was up to the same thing.

Call me a cynic, but, SEO’s were smashing Google, getting great results in the SERP’s. The organic results of page 1 were awesome, all 10 sites listed could have satisfied the searchers query and there wasn’t a great deal of fluctuations.

Ohhhhhhhhhh, hold on their Paddy (Patrick Pichette Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer) PPC is making less money, why?

Er.. because the organic reults are really good and the users are having a great experience and finding the sites they want.

Er..that’s not good what can we do.

Er..Matt Cutts says – lets create FUD and FOG and FUCK everyone up. Lets create updates about Panda’s and penguin’s and EMD’s and because I like Italy lets do Venice and oh oh oh, I love red bull but there a brand , so lets call it caffeine, lets make brand important with a knowledge graph and , yer yer yer, lets fuck them all up!

Well Matt and Google I dont respect your authority, and there is no FOG here (Fear Of Google).

The Disavow tool will never be used by someone I can influence so you can gather information to punish people for no reason!

An how, your authority…. There is more to the web than Google.

You do not set all the rules of engagement.

Fed up with you and your BS!

You adopted the dark to fight it, but you will never beat it¬

Google has some of the smartest people working for it, but increasingly I’m beginning to wonder if too much of a good thing could be bad… i.e. can too many smarties spoil the broth?

Whatcha mean

Well, Matt Cutts just announced another Algo update (to weed out what he calls webspam). He says this update will affect about 3% of searches, but already there has been a lot of collateral damage… with lots of legitimate businesses that do only white-hat SEO reporting severe drops in rankings.

Hmm…

You can read Matt Cutt’s announcement below:

http://googlewebmastercentral.blogspot.co.uk/2012/04/another-step-to-reward-high-quality.html

And here is just one of several discussions about the aftermath:

http://jlforums.com/search-engine-optimization/major-google-update-%28april-24th%29/

(This discussion was started by Jonathan Leger of ‘The Best Spinner’ fame).

Usually, I don’t pay much attention to Google algo updates and all the google BS! this time though…

Things are different… and some of my sites have been affected, but that’s not all…

It looks like Google have actually started penalizing sites for what they term unnatural backlinking.

In the past this was not the case, because it would make it very easy for people to take their competitors’ sites down by building black-hat backlinks to those sites.

So, the worst that could happen if Google detected unnatural backlinks is that they would just devalue the links.

That seems the sensible thing to do.

Absolutely!

But now it looks like Google have changed their tune…and they now explicitly penalize unnatural backlinking.

In fact, it has given rise to a new cottage industry called ‘Negative SEO’ – where people offer services for building a large volumes of black-hat backlinks to competitors’ sites… for a fee, of course.

WOW!

Yep. Here’s a very interesting discussion over at SEOBook’s blog:

http://www.seobook.com/negative-seo-outing

I think this is bad news for everybody including Google, unless…

This is a sneaky move by Google to get people to give up on SEO, and rely more on Google Adwords.

Hmm… I wouldn’t put it past them.

Personally, I don’t think I can continue to rely on Google!

LOL! Looks like Google’s plan worked… and everyone is gonna start paying Google to use Adwords.

It ain’t funny, dude.

Anyway, I just wanted to let you know that I think it’s gonna be a very bumpy ride with Google this year, and I don’t like what I’m seeing.

I think that’s bad news for Internet Marketers.

Yo, mama, dig out my black hat, we gona party like its 2000 baby!

Black hat is back, Google Bowling is back, negative SEO is rocking the world…. WHY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Google, Cutts, listen up biatches…………SORT IT OUT!

So, there has been a whole host of chatter recently, some mainstream and some not so main stream

But… one thing remains, Google in their infinte wisdom and following the mantra of Page to create a search engine that changes the world has changed the world, and, not for the good might I add.

Listen folks, lets be honest, I’m the SEO Badger, I will do whatever it takes on my money sites to make money, but, when it comes to a client site, then i offer nothing but professional, good quality, honest advice that ticks every box from a Google white hat perspective for on site and on page optimization. But, when it comes to off site, you can shove your “outreach” programmes, so 2000! Every link is a paid link in some form of another, God Damn, PPC is a paid link to your site via a placed advertisement, so keep the holier than thou crap for Sunday service.

So whats happening.

Well, you got poor little Aaron hall running scared for the tree tops over at SEO Book because quite frankly, he is pooping his pants as does not want to be the next Dan Thies

For those of you who don’t know , this Google brown nose just got his pants pulled down and his ass spanked from some might fine peeps!

Then we have the recent Case study over at traffic planet Ok, nice post and every thing else, but check out the thread, I am talking serious write up by member Negative SEO – We have managed to totally destroy a credible site with decent page rank, age, traffic and some-what authority. Site we targeted is revealed below!

The game is on!

Either G! you do something about it, or, your search engine is going to go to pot, you cannot determine if I over optimize a competitors back link profile, or, if they have some interim in there who hasn’t a clue and is trying to do it legit, or an employee is just hacked off and goes to fiverr and spends 40 bucks to shake things up a little.

OK, fair enough, you went fishing with all the WMT alerts, BTW peeps, ignore them , do not hit reconsideration requst what ever you do!

You got people to self police and you busted BMR, ALN, Link Monster, Link Vine, Linkvana, High PR society and a whole lot more, well done!

Google is up to its old bullying tricks again. Its behaviour resembles that of a 900lb Gorilla rampaging around inflicting pain and aggravation because it’s testicles have just been reshaped by a kick from one of its colleagues.
Not a pleasant concept and folks the world over are feeling the pain and pressure it is inflicting with its current activities. To be honest it is doing so much at present that you’d almost be pushed to try and fathom out where to start, what to take notice of first?

Well the subject I want to discuss today is that of the current so called “Over optimisation” slap that currently appears to be doing the rounds either brought about by or part of the current war against High Page Rank Networks.
The latest casualty appears to be Build My Rank hard on the heels of Authority Link Network and a whole host of others. At the same time Google appear to be firing the starting shots against some of the major Press Release Agencies who supply (for a fee disguised as an upgrade / premium fee) dofollow links in their Press Releases. The most notable name that has appeared here is PRWeb.com.

As well as de-indexing and downgrading sites that have getting links from these networks there also appears to be a huge increase in the so called “Google Re indexing Request”. Now this is where via Webmaster Tools, Google kindly informs the recipient that they have been guilty of dubious linking building practices and are going to be de-indexed but that they will be eligible for re indexing if they clean their act up and stop these nefarious activities etc.

Now I know that this is a gross over simplification of the issue but sometimes it is best to strip these down to the basics and then try and work your way up from there.

Firstly in a lot of cases this is long overdue and I am surprised it has taken so long to happen as some of these Networks were extremely over the top in the way they promoted themselves and what membership of these networks would achieve.

After all consider the following. Why would Google continually allow such networks to prosper when their main aim is to undermine what Google is about?

Consider the way that most have continued to go about their activities:

“Join us and with our help we’ll make sure that you get No 1 slots guaranteed in Google despite their updates!” etc etc.

Answer from Google? “No you’re not and we’re going to de index you and punish all the folks who have had anything to do with you”

Going back to my gorilla analogy, it’s like sitting next to the aforementioned big hairy fella, continually poking him with a stick and then wondering why he has just picked up an even bigger stick and hit you with it?
So what is there to do and what advice can be given?

Well strangely the first thing to do is sit tight. Do nothing, don’t reply to any so called Google Messages as I have a sneaky feeling these are auto generated (well really BADGER? That’s a surprise) and that they are just “shaking the tree” as we say over here in Northern Ireland and waiting to see who runs for cover and who falls out?
Don’t give them the pleasure but sit tight, watch and wait.

If you have a site that has been de-indexed or downgraded then go back and re-evaluate what you’ve been doing and what your involvement in any of the above High Page Rank Networks was.

Take this information and effectively reverse engineer it i.e. if you’ve only been targeting certain terms or anchor topics then widen your target base “as of yesterday”

Also consider your Anchor Link Density ratio and then expand upon that.

“Throw some dust up” and get some activity and signs of life surrounding your site and Google will have to re visit the site. Get fresh links but from different sources and don’t get beaten out of shape over Page Rank. It’s a busted flush, gone and not worth worrying over.

Nice if you have it but don’t lose any sleep if you haven’t.

Google are slowly pulling out of Page Rank anyway so why bother with it in the long term (the subject of another webinar basically but we’ll cover it in some detail in our next one).

Remember, Google wants to see a Back Links Landscape that as closely approximates a human powered one as possible. So if all Google sees on its occasional check is about 600 links all of which are coming from only PR4 sites and above, all on the same anchor subject and all from a limited number of IP’s then it is going to look very gerrymandered and false.

That’s why we’ve been “banging on about” these Wikis for the past few weeks. They are the perfect tool in your armoury for generating large numbers of any sort of links you want from 16,000 different IP’s. For literally a pittance you can create large numbers of sacrificial links that otherwise would be too expensive to procure or set up and then you can widen your back links base to as large a spread as you need.

For diluting a heavy links concentration they are perfect. They are also extremely useful in other areas and anecdotally we are in receipt of a number of case studies where they have been shown to have positively impacted upon increases in SERPS.

Now in case folks think that we’re ignoring what is going on at present and trying to pretend that nothing is amiss, we’re not. We’re just as anxious as the rest over what is going on but we’re anxious perhaps in a slightly more laid back manner.

Those of you who know me fairly well can confirm that my view on Google is that I listen to everything it says, don’t believe a word of what it says and trust it about as far as I can throw it.

I intensely dislike what it does and how it conducts itself, the breath taking hypocrisy that it comes out with time after time but sadly it is a fact of life we have to deal with it and live with it.
In this instance sit, watch and wait.

can’t claim credit for this genius piece of writing, was a “friend” of mine, he knows who he is and if he wants Kudos, he can have it!

#justsaying no links for sale here
